Q: Have you ever needed to be the adult in the room?

A: Yes, I have had this experience though I would characterize it less as needing to be a parent and more about coaching and providing perspective. An important life lesson I have learned from my professional experience is that in the absence of information the human brain will rush to fill in gaps with assumptions. And sometimes this can start to build and eventually spin out of control. Trying to course correct before that happens is an absolute art and skill.
