YEAR OF ZEN: SUMMER: DAY 22

The Girl in the Hammock - Winslow Homer

Q: Where you have meditated under open sky?

A: There is usually some form of meditation that happens whenever I find myself camping or hiking. I have also done it on our annual visits to South Dakota to visit the in-laws. They have hammocks set up all over the place. It is meditation that I deeply enjoy, to the point where we were inspired to purchase our own hammock that now hangs in our backyard. Hanging in space, reflecting on the sky, is a deeply calming and restorative activity.
