YEAR OF ZEN: SUMMER: DAY 40

Patch of grass - Vincent van Gogh

Q: Sometimes the grass seems greener somewhere else. Reflect.

A: I am not entirely sure where to to direct my reflection here. My personal philosophy is that we are all imperfect beings who are living out and trying versions of what we think is best (sometimes for good and often for ill). And we are all at different spots on our journeys. As such, I am never in awe, and wanting of someone else’s view, perspective, or enlightenment. In turn, I try (and often fail) to extend patience, grace, and understanding to those who may be going through a current struggle on their journey. I am a big believer in being kind because you never know the weight someone else is carrying at any given time.
