Q: What tells you when you are guiding truly versus operating in terms of your own needs?

A: Interesting thought to think on. I suppose that I can tell if I am guiding truly as a teacher when it is evident that it isn’t about me but about us. If I am teaching effectively, you are hopefully learning and at the end we both arrive at a better place. For me this can be hindered primarily by not focusing or preparing for the task at hand. When that happens, I feel scattered, disorganized and the product becomes about me and my failing rather than about us and our shared success.
