YEAR OF ZEN: SUMMER: DAY 65

Kitchen - Vincenzo Campi

Q: The utensils we use to eat make a difference. Reflect.

A: I think that this reflection can also bend towards the utensils and tools I use when I prepare food. Cooking has become one of my favorite activities. I love the focus and intention it requires. We have a set of knives, each with its own specialized utility. We also have a Vitamix blender and pots and pans for specialized uses. I chop with one knife, dice with another. I blend with a hand whisk or measure out ingredients for complete amalgamation in the blender. I bring water to a boil or line a baking tray with parchment paper for roasting in the oven. I work through my tools with intention and purpose.
