YEAR OF ZEN: WINTER: DAY 36

Q: Reflect on the pleasures and responsibilities of true nature.
A: I think that one of the greatest virtues of discovering true wisdom is that it fundamentally changes perspectives. It shifts reality and you cannot unsee it. And once this shift happens, and the world continues to turn, it becomes clear that getting knocked off your axis isn’t the end of things, but rather a whole new beginning. Wisdom, learning, and knowledge only grow as you become increasingly ready and willing to receive it and a byproduct that emerges is a deep humility for all the things you don’t know, and will never know. This then bleeds out into positions and behaviors in life where love, compassion, and joy emerge and help reinforce interactions with the world and the people, animals, and other wild things within it. And in this way the interconnectedness of things begins to emerge. At least, this has been my experience.
