YEAR OF ZEN: WINTER: DAY 87

Q: Practice holding a liminal space in your heart. Reflect.

A: I am endlessly fascinated by liminal states, in perception, in experience, and in nature. The ecotones where one thing is in transition to a different thing. It is all connected and of a piece, and it is really just the human desire and habit of categorizing everything that creates false distinctions. This happens all the time in life where we subjectively assign importance to certain events and build narratives to connect them. It is the most human of things to do, but it undervalues the liminal spaces where life is fully lived.
