Kings Peak

Kings Peak is a 13,528' mountain summit in the Uinta Range that is the highest point in Utah. It is part of the Ashley National Forest and is named after Clarence King who was an early director of the U.S. Geological Survey. King also led a 1867 geological survey of the western United States that included parts of northern Utah. Kings Peak falls within the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱ (Ute).
