The Spooky Sounds of Rocktober
Let no one say that my (growing) collection of horror-themed vinyl isn’t on point.
“Without music life would be a mistake.” So said one of the better dark comics of philosophy, Friedrich Nietzsche. He just so happened to be right. During a time of the year where I hold unconditional love for pretty much all horror culture, the chance to play my curated Rocktober playlist nonstop sits high on the list (apologies in advance to my wife and daughter).
Whether it’s Peter Steele vamping about hair dye, Siouxsie and her Banshees wailing about the dark arts of spellbinding, or Joey Ramone articulating his mortal fears about his final resting place, I am ALL IN. So, come on in for another season, Alice Cooper! I’m ready to be thrilled, Michael Jackson. Good to hear you again, Oingo Boingo. You sound as monstrous as ever, Rob Zombie! On this (almost) eve of October, let’s get the party started, act like Misfits, and Dance with the Dead!
