This blog is part of a series that documents my personal goal to summit all of the high county peaks in Utah.

ELEVATION: 12,169 feet

UTAH HIGH COUNTY PEAK RANK: 6 of 26

COUNTIES: Beaver and Piute

RANGE: Tushar Mountains

SUMMITED ON: July 24, 2010

GETTING TO THE TRAILHEAD: Go to the excellent “Girl On A Hike” website for detailed directions to the trailhead (as well as a good writeup of the hike).

NOTES: Did this hike way back in 2010 when the wife and I were still dating. She lived in Kanab and I lived in Salt Lake and we’d swap visits every month. We did Delano on one of my excursions down south. I don’t remember the road there being too rough, aside from a LOT of ATV’s. My memory of the hike is also of one that wasn’t too rough. As evidenced by the photos below, there was still some snow on the mountain that our dogs enjoyed playing in. Sarah also found an old trail entry of hers from a prior trip up with Haley (the white dog). The Tushar’s are a very beautiful, very unique mountain range, with lots of rounded edges and sweeping vistas. I need to get back down there soon.
