YEAR OF ZEN: AUTUMN: DAY 18

A view of the Roman Campagna from Tivoli, evening - Claude Lorrain

Q: Practice walking without making any noise. What is it like when you walk with whole body and mind?

A: There is definitely a flow state that I can reach while on a walk or a hike where activity becomes full body and my senses are sharpened and in full harmony with my physical motion. I often achieve this state in areas with gradual elevation gain/loss. When this state is reached external noise and distraction slide away and I am one with what I am doing. It is glorious.
