YEAR OF ZEN: AUTUMN: DAY 29

Giant Redwood Trees of California - Albert Bierstadt

Q: Are you too demanding of yourself at times rather than developing your discipline and commitment?

A: Yes, I am guilty of being too demanding on myself. When that happens having something to turn to that can restore perspective and clarity is very needed and much appreciated. This can be achieved by small acts, like preparing a meal. That is a space where I need to dedicate my full attention and where I have complete control over the process. I also find this perspective often by taking a walk or going on a hike, both of which literally help shift perspectives.
