Q: How has gender impacted your work life?

A: As a cisgendered white male, I try to never loose sight of the fact that I have an unbelievable amount of privilege and that society has basically been engineered to let me, and those like me, achieve without the same consequences for failure that other's who aren’t white men confront on a daily basis. This is to say that I am calling out the one big way in which I have benefitted in my professional life because of my gender. I have tried to back up this truth through action, effort, and competence. But, as stated, my risks for failure are simply lower than those others face. And this is not a good thing…
