YEAR OF ZEN: AUTUMN: DAY 45
Cicero Denounces Catiline - Cesare Maccari
Q: Many chants and sounds are more like music than language. They teach us in their own way. Reflect.
A: There is SO much of our waking lives that exists beyond the realm of language. Actually, on reflection, language is severely limited in what it can do. Yet it remains essential to our existence and nature. And it can so easily be used as a blunt force weapon. There is definite wisdom, I think, in living a broad experience that is aware of this and looks for meaning in the places where language fails: music, the natural world, and the whole universe itself.
