YEAR OF ZEN: AUTUMN: DAY 47

The Four Continents - Peter Paul Rubens

Q: For many, it can be a revolution to relax and not fall asleep. How is it for you?

A: Pure relaxation is something I need to continue cultivating for myself. I tend to just go, filling my time with work and tasks that I have set out for myself. It usually takes something physically exhausting (like a huge hike) for me to find the awareness to just relax and recharge. Times of illness are another space where my mind is knocked into an awareness of the need for rest and relaxation. It shouldn’t take getting sick or becoming exhausted to just chill out.
