YEAR OF ZEN: AUTUMN: DAY 83

Archimedes - Domenico-Fetti

Q: Sometimes spiritual study can feel vulnerable, especially if core beliefs are challenged. What can you do when faced with this?

A: I have been feeling this lately, probably because of the work I am doing in this journal and my perpetual curiosity and interests that always reveal how little I truly know about anything. I feel fortunate that in my life I broke free from the tether of organized religion. I am not going to shit talk it but for me it was a trap. I have spent my adult life trying to retain skepticism while cultivating my curiosity. This inherently rests on foundations of humility, vulnerability, and compassion (for myself and others). And, as always, sometimes I get those things more right than others.
