Q: In what areas of your life is it most challenging for you to practice receiving what you need gratefully, without falling into excess?

A: The area of my life where I feel like I struggle with this the most is with food and drink. If I am enjoying something I will too often continue enjoying it to excess, even if I know I’ll end up regretting the decision to do so later. We have been practicing some effective mitigation strategies at home for this. This includes pre-packing lunch bowls before eating dinner and preparing set meals for breakfast that are easy and ready to go in the morning. I have also found success in trying to mindfully adhere to a 12 hour intermittent fasting schedule (so cutting off consumption of food after 7PM every night).
