YEAR OF ZEN: SPRING: DAY 35
Q: Make friends with gravity and reflect on this as a metaphor for daily life.
A: I am a big fan of trying to take a rooted, but flexible position to things in my daily life. A position where I can stand solid and act from a core of strength while being flexible enough to manage inevitable shifts and changes. The natural metaphor for this is a tree. We have several young trees growing in our yard right now and I see their strong, yet flexible positions daily. They move with the environment and stay rooted and grounded enough to endure inevitable changes.
