YEAR OF ZEN: SPRING: DAY 19

Q: Why are we terrified of the blank page? There is nothing to lose, just write.

A: I appreciate the opportunity to put pen to paper and sort out my ideas! I am a better person when I journal. I am a better person when I take the time to sit with myself, sit with my thoughts, and bring the ideas in my head into alignment with the words on the page. Usually, I don’t have fear of the blank page as I have learned that once the pen hits paper, the words begin to flow: moving and pausing as ideas take shape, refine themselves, and evolve into a linkage. This is a controlled space where I have the ability to confront the blank page in a controlled space, a place where some refinement and editing is necessary.
