YEAR OF ZEN: SPRING: DAY 71

Q: Learning happens all over a spectrum. When it is time to engage and learn, where do you find yourself? What stories do you tell yourself?

A: While I consider it a core ethic to maintain curiosity and an open mind, I know that there are times when I am much better at actually practicing it than others. It is an easy thing to hold in the abstract, but I have learned that we, as human beings, have precious little bandwidth and if that is scant we close off pretty quickly. It does make me feel more compassion for those who exist in heightened states of fear and anxiety for much of their lives.
