YEAR OF ZEN: SUMMER: DAY 37

The Sacred Grove, Beloved of the Arts and Muses - Pierre Puvis de Chavannes

Q: What changes a silly action into something that expresses care, attention, and compassion?

A: I think that any frivolous activity can take on a sacred nature if it is done mindfully and with intention. For example: something as ordinary as brushing my teeth each morning, if I do it with intention and remember that I am doing it as an act of service and honor to the body that sustains me, takes on an element of the sacred.
