YEAR OF ZEN: AUTUMN: DAY 06
Christ in the Storm on the Sea of Galilee - Rembrandt
Q: Act out a storm and then write a line about what follows the thunder and lightning.
A: One of our favorite books to read the kids has been “Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?” by Dr. Seuss. In it, Mr. Brown can make thunder (boom boom) and lightning (splat splat) and in my reading of this I act out how those things feel. Recently I read this book to Eli while the weather raged outside, a storm that felt like one of those dividing lines separating summer from autumn. Afterward, in the calm that follows, things are drenched and the sky has ragged clouds, trying to decide what to do next.
