Q: Is reading the core texts of Buddhism helpful for you?
A: I have never read the core texts of Buddhism. Rather, I have read mediated texts from Buddhist masters and practitioners to learn more. And like any mediated version of something these come with the attitudes, opinions, and experiences of the writer firmly embedded within. Though, I suppose the core texts and teachings are the same (that is to say, from the perspective(s) of the author(s)). Every time I read Buddhist philosophy I walk away feeling informed and excited by what I have learned. I always find it worth the time and effort.
