As I did last year, I’m using my final blog post of this year to touch briefly on the state of this website. 2019 was a success in the sense that I continued to put out blog content almost every week. It was a year where a lot of recurring blog series either continued, or started. This includes episodic posts on trees, reworked blogs from my work life, documentation of the high places in Utah, explorations of individual years I have lived through, and recurring (re)visits to work I did as a graduate student in both the Environmental Humanities and Information Sciences. In 2020, I anticipate continuing on with these various series, potentially enacting some new ones, and generally utilizing this website’s blog space as a convenient way to record the noteworthy events in my life.

Other sections of my website also saw some love this year. I have continued documenting the books I’ve read on my bookshelf. After a hiatus, I have been more active recording good beers I try on my Untapped account. We didn’t make it up many new mountains this year, both those that were climbed are now on my Peakery page. And, finally, in 2019 I added a new section to highlight the growing vinyl collection that has become something of an obsession in our household.

All told, the website continues to meet the mandate I originally put out for it, serving effectively as a clearinghouse for the parts of my life I continue to want to share. Thank you to all who have paid a visit at some point in 2019! So, here’s to another successful year of “web siting!” I am looking forward to pressing forward in a new year (and decade!).
