Q: Listen to your environment. What is a sound that you hadn’t been aware of?

A: Sitting quietly at my kitchen table, I am aware of the hum of the refrigerator. The weather outside is hot and I hear our air conditioning click on and begin blowing. Eli is awake and wandering around our living room, talking and singing to himself. I hear the sounds of Watson’s nails as he walks across our wooden floors. All of these sounds are an ever-present part of the sonic collage in our home and I love all of them.
