YEAR OF ZEN: SUMMER: DAY 52

The Sweeper - Pierre Auguste Renoir

Q: Clean up after yourself! Is this easy or difficult for you?

A: Leaving no trace and cleaning up after myself has long been a virtue I have aspired to keep, maybe sometimes to a fault. I find deep focus and renewal in cleaning. Doing the dishes is one of my daily rituals and I often look forward to the work. I make our bed every morning as it is a ritual that symbolizes order being brought to the day (or at least as much as I am able to impose). An I have a weekly house cleaning ritual on the weekends that serves as another point of ritual, transitioning us from one week to another.
