YEAR OF ZEN: SUMMER: DAY 84
The Childs Bath - Mary Cassatt
Q: Reflect on letting go of direction.
A: Our brains are hardwired for stories and seeing things in narrative structure, but reality doesn’t really operate that way. This awareness makes taking the leap into the unknown and letting go of direction easier, though by no means easy. Raising kids is the most intense example of this in my life. You can make up a whole world of plans and then soon realize that life is going to happen so letting go of a specific direction, and taking queues from life, is usually the best course of action.
