YEAR OF ZEN: SUMMER: DAY 87
Poppies - Claude Monet
Q: Sometimes it is not time to do but time to be. Reflect.
A: In theory, I think this is supposed to be the intention behind any vacation, though it is often too easy for that time to become so structured and regimented that it becomes a job which undermines the intent. Sarah and I have gotten pretty good at planning vacations with almost no agenda. We aim for touchstone moments that we aspire for (but are flexible enough to skip if needed). Another time in life when I tend to “be” is when I go on walks or hikes. The simple act of moving in the world is so important for my mental and physical wellbeing.
