YEAR OF ZEN: SUMMER: DAY 88

The Garden of Death - Hugo Simberg

Q: If there were only a few weeks left of your life, and you were full of energy, what would need to do?

A: This is a thought exercise I devote time to on a regular basis. I think that a healthy awareness and acknowledgement of death, and its ability to enter our lives at any moment, helps me focus my awareness and appreciation of life. If I had limited time and robust energy I would:

Hike one last mountain
Tie off loose ends at work
Finalize my journal projects
Listen to a TON of music and dance party with my kids
Take a weekend adventure somewhere awesome with Sarah
Hold a living wake to celebrate my life and say goodbye to the people I love
